the “documentary”

October 24, 2009

since photobucket has been driving me literally through the walls, I had to be really selective with the uploading of my pics…

.

SO, for this post, instead of what I initially had in mind…

Imma gonna do a documentary on our food intake in Queenstown!!!!! wth.

What to do? Low budget product…  so expect the unexpected, or the totally expected from Moi the lulu…

.

Once we landed in Queenstown, checked in, we headed straight to the town centre which you could finish walking in less than 30 minutes for a much-needed lunch… BUT everything was so bloody over-priced!!!!!!! So, being the typical asians, we went for the restaurant that has a $10 meal sign up front, with fingers-crossed hoping for a decent meal…

.

THIS IS NOT A FOOD.

THIS IS ME WAITING FOR MY FOOD LIKE A PEASANT WHO HAVEN’T EATEN FOR 248 DAYS YET TRYING TO SMILE FOR THE CAMERA…

@_@

.

my tomyam chicken… slightly too sweet for my liking @_@ edible nonetheless…

.

.

really good green tea that played a part in saving us… (will blogged about it when photobucket decides not to be such a pain)

some ‘okay’ takoyaki…

also “okay” udon with karange chicken…

pretty wakatipu rolls…

.

.

Next meal.

was at Cafe Bonjour…

… and we had…

Flaming sugar with Grand Marnier crepe

and

La Poulet crepe (chicken, mushroom, creme, and onions)

.

So good, they left us wanting from more…

*saliva dripping out unconsciously as I think about it… ahhh…*

.

really like these candid pictures of me…huhu… *vain*

.

.

and our last meal in Queenstown…

Wanted Flame Grill but thought too expensive to splurge $80 on lunch!!!

Scroll the whole town twice… bickered a little about what to eat…

And ended up in the rival of the Thai Restaurant we visited on the first day… @_@

.

overcooked pad thai seafood noodles @_@

.

worst satay I’ve ever tasted in my whole life! like serious!

.

and super ajinomoto-flavored tomyam… T.T

.

.

Hands down, the first restaurant won!

.

.

Even though we didn’t enjoy our food as much as we hope to during our stay in the oh so over-rated Queenstown…

we were treated to a magnificent FIVE COURSE PEKING DUCK MEAL for dinner upon our arrival in Auckland, all thanks to L’s mum!!!

.

and man… it was SO SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
