PETALING JAYA: Media Prima Group Editor (News and Current Affairs) of NTV7, TV8, TV9 and Radio Networks Datuk Manja Ismail’s youngest son was killed in an accident at USJ3, Subang Jaya.

Muhammad Ikhwanul Ashraf Manja (pic), 18, died on the spot after his car skidded and turned turtle along the Jalan Kewajipan junction during the 4.30am incident yesterday. He was thrown out of the car, Selangor Traffic Chief Supt Che Hussin said.

It is learnt that Muhammad Ikhwanul Ashraf was on his way home after watching the English Premiership League (EPL) match between Chelsea and Blackburn at a food outlet near SS15. The match ended at about 2am.

“He left the place after the progamme and headed straight home at USJ5 nearby,” said a relative who asked not to be named.

The relative said Muhammad Ikhwanul Ashraf had left his house in his sister’s car after dinner to catch an earlier match between Manchester United and Liverpool.

“It was normal for him to watch EPL matches at his favourite food outlet with close friends.

“It is a tragic loss to the family,” said the relative, adding that Muhammad Ikhwanul Ashraf’s parents were making arrangements to enrol him at Taylor’s College.

Muhammad Ikhwanul Ashraf obtained four As in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination last year.

He was buried at the Bukti Kiara Muslim cemetery after the zohor prayers yesterday.

Hey. I stumbled across your blog while reading on the boy you were just writing about.

It so happened that his parents and my parents are close friends and though I do not know him up close and personal, I know for sure that he should be remembered more than just the boy-who-died-in-a-car-accident-and-who-got-4As-for-SPM.

He was a talented guitarist and singer, a good son and brother and yet these people failed to point that out.

    Sad no?

hey felicia, i heard abt this from alis. cuz this boy lives near anis’s house or sumting like that. Yeah, stupid thing for the media to write abt how mant A’s he got in SPM. They might as well put his PMR results, since they’re at it.

But u know how media is, never accurate. And concealing the outmost truth is supposed to be their primary job, i think.

Anyways I feel sorry for this poor boy and his family. He’s just been out watching a football match but I guess it’s fate. God knows best. Al-fatihah buat arwah.

your two cents?
