one thing we did best in New Zealand, is EATING.

We were so good at it, we piled up few kgs each in just a few days.

Alex even constantly joked that I was eating as much as him… which was kinda true…

My justification was that I would be losing them fats in gua musang soon. Well, I better coz I do feel fat now.

For now, I’m just gonna splashed this entry with the food that made me a really happy person, and probably insert a few lame captions as I’m on it.

*drumroll*

*preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet ba dum tss*

the bestest sweet vinegar pork ever. EVERRRRRRrrrr.

my first taste on this Shanghainese specialty – cold smoked fish, marinated with black bean sauce, and it was sooooooooooo good!

we could never have enough of Yumcha at Grand Harbour

i think i’m just weirdly addicted to Korean’s side dishes… lol

I had been hearing so much about this ‘pork sandwich’ that Alex kinda has once a week… and it was definitely worth the ‘hype’. YUM!

Kiwigold! Probably one of our most favourite fruit!

Alex baked this Braeburn Apple Tarte Tatin, which turned out so good. It was his first try mind you.

Langham’s buffet breakfast has quite a nice hearty selection

when you are in NZ or OZ, you cannot NOT have wicked wings. just Cannot… lol

Lazy days calls for Lazy Yummy Food such as gourmet frozen pies lol.

If I were to choose a burger between Mcd, Wendy’s and Burger King.. hands down, BK FTW!

we managed to find this really nice teppanyaki place in a slightly more hidden part of Newmarket. It’s so good, we started an account for this shop and wrote a very good review for it on Menumania.com lol

Alex’s grilled chicken wings – best in New Zealand and Malaysia! lol

This Hazelnut Choc drink was not bad, though I have tasted better. Decided to put it here coz it looks kinda cute

Devilisious Mississippi Chocolate Mud Cake. So wicked!

Probably one of the best waffle I have had. Totally in love with the molten chocolate.

See, all these explain the fats.

If Tofu Salad never sounds tempting to you, wait till you try this from Tanto. It is so good, I can’t wait to have more on my next visit.

.

I think Tanto could easily be one of the best Japanese restaurants in Auckland. Well, if it is good enough for Japanese Obasan, it is good enough for us lol.

the chicken karaange is crispy, tender, juicy, and surprisingly NOT OILY.

This is Tanto’s Lunch Bento Set. Especially love the generous servings of the sashimi. So fresh and juicy!

and when we thought we couldn’t have an even better meal here in Tanto, we were overjoyed with this wonderful dessert…

Green Tea Bulee and Lemon Sorbet – BEST COMBINATION EVER!!!!!!!!

We went to Covo Pizza after reading raved reviews. It was quite a long wait for the food to arrive and we were slightly disappointed by the little toppings we had on our pizza. Bono Pizza was way more generous with their toppings. But taste-wise, the woodfire pizza was quite delectable and we really like the fettuccine.

Last but not least,

We had a brunch, that somewhat took us to heaven.

Really.
